2012 YEAR OF MAKING HISTORY
(GOING BEYOND BORDERLINES; taking off limits)
GOLDEN TEXT: PSALM71: 19-21
Of a truth, ignorance is a disease but there is something more destructive than this causative organism and that is the ignorance of ignorance. Whatever one does not know is older than one but sometimes many people do not know but they think that they know, not knowing however that they do not know. To such people, everything is business as usual. If you ever come up with anything unusual, it will take only the Proverbs’ writer to make you desist from wasting your precious time, arguing.
Nothing comes to stay in life is the true position but sometimes, you find out that many people settle for what is not knowing that there is what should be! Of more importance however is the truth that nothing brings itself into existence but somebody somewhere; having had a dream must surely push it forward lest it turns out to become a mere nightmare. This of a truth is the state of many dreams had in life by most people.
Life is indeed what you as a person makes out of it. Have you ever taken out your time to ask saying: Why are some wealthy and others poor? Does it ever occur to you that both he who is the richest man and the poorest; were born naked? In other words, that everyone came into the world bare without anything! What then is the ingredient that makes one move up and even higher while many others remain down and low? It is not far fetched but many seems to have resigned to fate thinking as well as having believed that that is how it has been ordained and there is nothing any one can do about it.
Indeed a lot can be done and it starts with renewing your mind. That goes to say that poverty is not a state of having no money but a state of the mind. Is it not said that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop? Yes indeed! Is your mind then idle or busy? If the latter; another question is: What have you busied your mind with? There are two things: It is either the world or the Word! Either of these that you preoccupy your self with will determine what will come out of you.
The text for the year despite unfolding the state of the writer gives a revelation of the fact that he must have preoccupied his mind with the Word of God and as such the conviction that this God; though He may have allowed difficulties and challenges to come his way, the abilities on His (God) side to still turn his situations around are not questionable. It is of a greater interest to note that he was not just interested in witnessing changes but had a conviction that it will be awesome that it will amaze everyone. Hear him:
“You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again” (Psalm71:21).
This is exactly what our Awesome God is in the business of doing unto willing vessels this year. A willing vessel is one who has chosen not to be moved by the five senses but has implored to move by the power of the sixth sense: the sense of faith. Remember always that without faith, it is absolutely impossible to please the LORD our God (Hebrews11:6). So then if you are prepared this year to dare the borderline in the mighty name of Jesus, your victory is assured and you would have made history and enshrine your name in Heaven’s hall of fame and not the world’s!
It is a choice making affair because there is no man with two heads and every one is unique in his own way. There is something awesome about you which you are yet to discover. Until that discovery is made, you will likely remain another mighty man of valor who preferred the life of a coward like in the account of Gideon (Judges Chapter 6). Do you know that Gideon’s undoing; was the voice of the people? If you therefore want to make History this year, you must close your ears against what you will hear from man but cling unto what God will say to you. In other words, weigh everything you hear on the scale with the word of God. Whichever outweighs the other should be carried out.
This is your year of making History and as such changing stories. Or are you not fed up with being in the same position year in and year out? If you are comfortable with where you are; then sit tight but to as many of you who know that errors are meant to be corrected, this is your year to sing a new song to the praise of our Almighty Heavenly Father who makes all things beautiful in His time.
Should one then sit down at home while waiting for the said time to come and knock at one’s door? No is the appropriate answer! A working God: loves working people. This is the reason His word says a little sleep and a little slumber and poverty will pounce on you. Wake up and start to work. Whatever your hands find doing, do them with all your heart for that is the key that exemplifies one wherever he belongs.
Do you know that if Mary were to have been today’s Believer; as soon as she heard Jesus say to her: Woman; what have I to do with you, My time hasn’t reached, She would have left Him? But Mary turned to the attendants and said: Whatever He asks you to do, do it (John2:5). By that, she clearly demonstrated that though His time has not reached, any one who is willing can make God move the hand of the clock forward to meet such at the point of his need. Are you prepared to do what ever He tells you to do? Then know it that you have placed your self on a pole position for breaking through and forth this year.
It is your year of going beyond the border line set by the forces of darkness which you could not cross in the past. Wake up and take those limits and limitations off you by holding unto God. Joshua did his in a grand style and commanded the sun to stand still; Elijah closed the Heavens and put the keys in his pocket for more than three years; Joseph moved from Prison to Palace; Ruth by the power of her declaration caused God to pause a while even as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego made Heaven to stand still by the power of their confession.
Should we go on? It is not very necessary. Mention however need be made of our time that has produced the likes of the Obama’s and their phenomenal statements that changed the world saying: “Yes we can”. This however began with a personal conviction that says: yes I can. The Good luck’s of our generation put it this way: “If I can make it, you can make it as well”. What are you waiting for knowing it is in you? There is a Giant living inside you. Stir Him up and the rest will be History. Hear this: If you are willing and ready; this year has the mandate to register your name amongst those who beat every odd and made it happen and happen real big. Remain blessed.
